A probe is underway following a gas explosion at premises on Callaloo Mews in St. Andrew on Sunday evening.
It’s reported that two men were cutting a chlorine gas cylinder for scrap metal purposes when it exploded, releasing dangerous fumes. Five people were rushed to hospital, including three children.
Radio Jamaica News understands that one of them was treated and released.
Representatives from the Jamaica Fire brigade and the National Water Commission initially cleared the area for safety purposes.
Residents were later allowed to return to their homes after it was deemed fit.
