Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited (KFTL) has confirmed that six people were taken in for questioning after the company called in the police over irregularities detected at the facility.
KFTL says the irregularities were identified over the last week during routine and enhanced security monitoring.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Firearm & Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) and the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) subsequently conducted a joint operation at the terminal on Friday.
KFTL says the matter is under active investigation and it cannot comment on specific details at this time.
The company says it will continue to cooperate with the appropriate authorities.
