Head of the St Catherine North Police Division Senior Superintendent Hopton Nicholson is appealing to residents of March Pen to assist the police in weeding out criminals from the community.
Over the last seven months there have been a number of shooting incidents in March Pen, which resulted in the deaths and wounding of several people, stemming from gang feuds.
The latest incident saw 35 year old Rushane Beckford, a teacher at Ascot High School, being shot dead on Friday.
Senior Superintendent Nicholson said the police will remain vigilant to ensure the safety of residents and appealed to residents of March Pen not to “harbor individuals who you know are contributing to these violent activities.”
Instead, he urged them to allow the police to “conduct the necessary investigation, and we commit to bringing the perpetrators to justice and bring closure within a reasonable time frame.”
SSP Nicholson also named several persons of interest, advising them to surrender to the police.
Using the standard terms deployed in such circumstances, he said the police believed the named persons following persons “can assist the St. Catherine North CIB in conducting a series of investigations into the violent incidents over the past few months.”
They are Andre Parker (Pie), Ricardo Nicholson (Pong), Shemar Burton, Rajim Burton, a man known only as Crocs, another one known as Breda, two brothers who go by the name Twin, a man known only as King, a man known as Shotta, one known only as AK Man, and another called Blacks.
