The National Water Commission (NWC) has imposed nightly water restrictions for sections of Kingston 20 because of below-average inflows and the ongoing dry conditions affecting the Corporate Area’s two main water storage facilities.
The NWC says effective July 19, customers in Washington Gardens, Maverley and surrounding communities will receive water on a scheduled basis between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. each day until further notice.
The NWC says that the schedule is being implemented in order to maintain service to the impacted areas.
Washington Gardens and Maverley are served by the Constant Spring Water Treatment Plant, which is supplied primarily by the Hermitage Dam and the Rio Cobre system.
The NWC last week reported that the Hermitage Dam, which is now at 54.6 per cent of its total capacity, lost another 3 million gallons.
