Two men have been charged with several firearm-related offences, following an alleged attack on a woman along Mandela Highway in St Catherine.
Oshane Hall, 33 – also known as Drip Boss – a farmer of Central Village, and 27 year-old Phillip Blackwood Jr., otherwise called Todd, a nurse of Twickenham Park, St Catherine, have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and participating in a criminal organization.
According to the Central Village Police, about 4:15 p.m., on Monday, July 6, Hall, Blackwood and another accomplice approached a woman who was walking along the roadway. Two of the assailants were reportedly armed with firearms.
The police reported that one of the men chased the woman and assaulted her with a bottle.
The woman managed to escape and subsequently reported the incident to the police.
Hall and Blackwood were later pointed out to the police and taken into custody.
On August 24, both men were questioned in the presence of their attorney, following which they were charged.
The third suspect remains at large and is being sought by the police.
Hall and Blackwood are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, August 31.
