Mount Pleasant now a point away from automatic JPL semi-final spot

Mount Pleasant FA are a point away from securing an automatic semi-final spot in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) following their 2-1 win over Waterhouse on Monday at Drax Hall. Mount Pleasant are now on 68 points, three behind leaders Montego Bay United. Waterhouse are on 59 points with two rounds of matches to be played.

Meanwhile, Molynes United moved a touch within safety after a 2-0 win over Tivoli Gardens in the early match at Drax Hall. Nicholas Nelson got the opener in the 13th minute.

Substitute Shevon Miller secured the victory in the 73rd minute, as Molynes moved up to 39 points, three away from the relegation zone with 6 points to play for.

Tivoli will be back in action on Thursday when they play away to Treasure Beach in a rescheduled encounter.
