The Discovery Bay Police in St Ann are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspected drowning of a four year-old boy at Puerto Seco Beach on Thursday afternoon.
It’s reported that the boy, of a Portmore, St Catherine address, was at the beach with his parents and other family members.
About 2:40, he was reportedly seen wandering at a section of the beach and was brought back to his parents by a lifeguard on duty.
The boy again reportedly disappeared and a search was launched by his relatives and a team from the Jamaica Defence Force.
The child was spotted motionless in a swimming pool for adults at another section of the property.
He was pulled from the water and CPR was administered.
He was then rushed to the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
