The father of 10-year-old Shani Coke, who was raped and murdered in July, has died just weeks after laying his daughter to rest.
Aston Junior Coke, who had been battling colon cancer, died at Mandeville Hospital on Thursday morning. His death was confirmed by a relative.
Mr. Coke’s death comes approximately two weeks after Shani’s funeral.
The 10-year-old’s body was discovered in Tyre, Trelawny after she went missing while on her way to a nearby shop.
Her killing sparked widespread outrage. The suspect was killed by a mob. Mr. Coke had spoken publicly about the devastating loss of his daughter while dealing with his own illness.
