Two Jamaican brothers who were shot and killed outside a sports bar in Connecticut are being remembered as devoted fathers and valued employees, as their grieving family appeals for public support to return their bodies to Jamaica for burial.
The victims, 31-year-old Miguel Daniel Blake of New Haven and 34-year-old Dravere Christopher Blake of Meriden, were fatally shot outside Muzeum Sports Bar and Grill in West Haven about 1:30am on Saturday, June 20.
According to West Haven police, officers found both men unresponsive at the scene.
They were transported to hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A third gunshot victim was found conscious and alert and was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have made no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The brother were employed at the bar and grill.
Meanwhile, the brothers’ mother, Marie Blake, has launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking US$30,000 to cover the costs of transporting their bodies to Jamaica and paying for funeral expenses.
