Corporate Area water storage levels continue to decline

Water levels at the Corporate Area’s two main catchment facilities continue to decline, with the National Water Commission reporting that both the Mona Reservoir and Hermitage Dam recording reductions over the last week.

The Mona Reservoir has fallen by about 7.5 percentage points over the six-day period ending Sunday, July 26.

The reservoir moved from 574.8 million gallons on Monday, July 20, to 531.6 million gallons, or 65.7 per cent of capacity, on Sunday.

The Hermitage Dam recorded a smaller decline, falling by about 1.5 per cent over the same period.

Its storage level dropped from 195.6 million gallons, on July 20, to 192.6 million gallons, representing 48.9 per cent of capacity, on Sunday.

The continued fall in water levels is adding to concerns about supplies in the Corporate Area as dry conditions persist.
