Residents affected by smoke from Myersville dump

Residents in St. Elizabeth are again facing heavy smoke pollution from the Myersville dump, with communities reporting worsening conditions.

“It coming like mi can’t ketch breath and the smoke is so thick that where my house is, I cannot see my neighbour house…less than 30 feet from fi mi house… Mi haffi a wear mask,” one resident complained.

The smoke, which began late last week, has spread across several St. Elizabeth communities and into parts of Manchester, including Montpellier and Spur Tree.
