The body of a pharmacy technician, who was on Wednesday reported missing by the Manchester Police, was found Thursday morning in St. Elizabeth.
Forty-year-old Kedecia McLeod of Allison district in Bombay, Manchester was last seen at work on Tuesday, June 9.
Her body, which had bullet wounds, was found along a road in Pepper district.
A farmer enroute to his property made the discovery about 9:15 a.m. and alerted the police.
Residents reported hearing explosions in the area about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Person of interest dead
A security guard, who was under investigation in connection with Ms. McLeod’s disappearance, is suspected to have taken his life in Brown’s Town, St. Ann on Thursday morning.
He has been identified as 50-year-old Maurice Fennel of Cambridge, St. James.
It’s reported that Mr. Fennel arrived in Standfast, Brown’s Town about 9 p.m. Wednesday and stayed with friends in the area.
Commanding Officer for the St. Ann Police Division, Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell says he was found dead about 6 o’clock Thursday morning.
“This morning he was standing on the outside along the roadway when gunshots were heard, and when his friend investigated he saw him lying along the roadway with his firearm in his hand. The police are now conducting investigation,” he shared.
SSP Russell also disclosed that Mr. Fennel had purported to be a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to his friends who believed the claim to be true.
