NHF in full control of its systems despite alleged breach, says CEO

The National Health Fund (NHF) says it is in full control of its systems, despite being contacted by hackers claiming to be in possession of medical information belonging to some clients.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton disclosed on Wednesday that the data allegedly in the hacker group’s possession relates to medication.

But CEO of National Health Fund, Everton Anderson, says the supposed breach does not appear to be extensive.

“But we are investigating it fully to determine the extent of this situation. And given the space we are in, in terms of a health space, our commitment is to be fully open, be fully transparent and to communicate to our customers as the information emerges,” he promised.

He was speaking Wednesday on Radio Jamaica’s Beyond the Headlines.
