Detectives in St. Ann are searching for two motorists linked to a serious hit and run in the parish on Tuesday evening.
Investigators say the drivers of a grey Toyota RAV4 and a white Toyota Mark X were speeding along the Salem, Runaway Bay main road when a teenage pedestrian was hit and badly injured.
Reports are that about 8:30 p.m., the teenager went to purchase food at a restaurant and was crossing the road when the RAV4 swerved to avoid hitting him.
The Mark X, however, proceeded to hit the teen.
Both drivers fled the scene.
An off-duty police officer arrived early on the scene and assisted the injured teen to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.
