The Jamaica Business Development Corporation is urging micro, small and medium sized enterprises to move beyond the basic use of artificial intelligence tools.
The JBDC, which is an agency of the Ministry of Industry Investment & Commerce, is also urging members of the sector to commence the integration of automation into their core business operations. This, in an effort to improve productivity, responsiveness and long-term competitiveness.
This call was made at the corporation’s “Virtual Biz Zone session 2026,” which was held under the theme “AI for Small Business: Work Smarter, Grow Faster.”
Dr. Sean Miller, lecturer in the computing department at the UWI, speaking at the webinar, stressed that, although AI has become widely accessible, many businesses are not maximizing its full potential.
