Holness to be sworn in as Prime Minister next Tuesday

Dr. Andrew Holness will for a fourth time be sworn in as Prime Minister of Jamaica.

He will be sworn in by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen next Tuesday, September 16 during a ceremony at King’s House at 4 p.m.

During the ceremony, Dr. Holness will take the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office and will be presented with his instrument of appointment by the Governor General.

Dr. Holness and Sir Patrick met on Wednesday. The meeting took place after the Electoral Office of Jamaica formally advised the Governor General on Tuesday that the Jamaica Labour Party won the September 3 general election.

The JLP secured 35 seats to the People’s National Party’s 28 seats.
