The ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) says all is in place for the party’s 80th annual conference on Sunday at the National Arena.
JLP Deputy Leader Desmond McKenzie says the party will use the conference to outline its achievements since forming the government in 2016.
This 80th conference, he said, will facilitate a national conversation on the vision of the JLP for the future of Jamaica.
“At the conference, we will discuss the important issues that has (sic) already shaped the party and will continue to shape the future direction of the party and the policies and the programmes as it relates to the needs of the Jamaica people. Today is an important day because we are anticipating a massive turnout of Labourites from right across the country,” he declared.
Mr. McKenzie said several events have been planned ahead of Sunday’s conference.
“There are going to be two major events before Sunday. One takes place tonight in East Central St. Andrew where we will be having one of our new features on the street lined with the team of Councillor Bev Prince and caretaker Jodian Myrie on Content Avenue, off the Waltham Park Road. And then on Thursday night we wind up the small activities with the West Kingston Conference at…Tivoli Gardens High School.”
